The emotions were running high on American Idol 2015 last night, as American Idol Season 14 is only five weeks away from crowning the winner of American Idol 2015! How crazy is that??? With that being said, it looks like the pressure and emotions may have gotten to Quentin Alexander last night, as he made quite a scene and Ryan Seacrest was afraid he may punch Harry Connick Jr.! Check out all the details in our American Idol 2015 spoilers below!
Last night on American Idol Season 14, we had the contestants taking on two songs apiece and I was unsure how it would work. As it turns out, Ryan announced the results as normal and the contestants performed their first song. That left us knowing the bottom two contestants in the first hour! They would perform and then everyone perform again and then the Idol Fan Save opened up at the end of the show, per normal.
So, Joey Cook and Rayvon Owen were the bottom two and Quentin Alexander was the last to find out that they were safe for the night. He performed, got his critiques and you could tell he was not happy. Ryan asked what was wrong and he said it was “whack” that two amazing vocalists were in the bottom and his best friend. Ryan worked the situation out and got him to head backstage.
That is when Harry spoke up and I, honestly, think he thought they were at commercial break. He proceeded to tell Quentin that was disrespectful and this is a competition and the shows pays a lot of money for this experience and if Quentin didn’t like it, then he could go home!
Quentin came back out and stood right next to the judges’ table and explained himself, which I loved. He said he never meant any disrespect by what he said and he has grown to love both of them and he was speaking on his emotions of them being in the bottom two and not speaking of the show or the process. he apologized again after his second performance and I think it showed that he truly is a nice guy.
I think Harry misunderstood him and it got blown out of proportion, but I am glad that Quentin defended himself. I think the producers loved the moment. I think announcing the bottom two in the middle of the show was silly and not necessary and they see why. Quentin was emotional about it and he showed it. Sure, he should have held it in and it is part of the show, but he is human and he has the right to get ticked off. The producers should have let the Top 7 perform their first song and no results. Then have Ryan announce the results and let them perform their second song and the bottom two perform it to earn the Idol Fan Save!
